The Climate Solutions Prize (CSP), in proud collaboration with Mitacs, is pleased to launch the Student Entrepreneur Innovation Prize, a national competition that recognizes high-impact ventures addressing emissions reduction, climate resilience, and sustainable deployment, while helping founders gain the funding, visibility, and ecosystem support needed to move closer to adoption.
With a total funding envelope of $180,000, the competition will award $100,000 to the first-place winner and $80,000 to the second-place winner, providing catalytic, non-dilutive capital to help student-led ventures scale their technologies and business models.
Beyond financial support, the Prize offers national visibility, credibility within the climate innovation ecosystem, and meaningful connections to investors, corporates, researchers, and ecosystem partners.
The Student Entrepreneur Innovation Prize reflects CSP’s commitment to unlocking Canadian talent early and positioning student founders as serious contributors to the climate economy. By partnering with Mitacs, CSP is strengthening the bridge between academic excellence, entrepreneurial ambition, and market-ready climate solutions.
Student entrepreneurs with scalable, science-based, and commercially credible climate innovations are encouraged to apply and join a growing national movement turning breakthrough ideas into measurable impact.
