The Early-Stage Funding Competition is led by ESIL (Environmental Sustainability Innovation Lab) - a joint venture of EDF Renewables, Bazan Group, and Johnson Matthey, working under the concession of the Israel Innovation Authority. Through these co-founders and other strategic partners, ESIL invests in early-stage climate tech startups and accelerates their growth towards commercialization.
ESIL operates as a unique bridge between industry and startups, linking innovative local solutions to global needs, and is interested in the following priority areas:
- Production and storage of renewable energy
- Production, transport, and storage of green hydrogen
- Reduction of air pollution
- Decarbonization
- Prevention and reduction of pollution and hazards from hazardous materials
- Optimization of production processes
- Pollution treatment
- Monitoring and control of pollution
- Material recycling and reconstitution
- Computerizing and control of pollution treatment processes
- Sewage and water treatment
The winner of this challenge will be awarded the following prizes:
- Up to 2,000,000 NIS investment, along with potential follow-on investments (*)
- The opportunity to receive development support and/or engage in a technology pilot with one of ESIL’s founding partners, as applicable
- COP28 UAE: flight, accommodation, and entrance to the Green Zone, and selected event participation for one person
